I feel guilty every day thinking about them and how I am not able to look after them.

My name is Hany. I am an Australian citizen. I moved to Australia in 2012. My parents are 82 and 69 years old, so they are quite old. They have only me and my sister who is also an Australian citizen. So basically my parents live alone overseas with non of their kids available to look after them. I am happy to pay the fees for the contributory visa category but waiting years to get a result is not really visible, I feel guilty every day thinking about them and how I am not able to look after them when they need me the most.

They are currently in Australia on a visitor visa , and I am in the process to lodge 143 visa for them. However, given the current processing time, it is just concerning that they may not able to get it in time. I hope we can reach something with this campaign as I am quite sure there are a lot of people like me around.

It is a depressing situation and non-human from the Australian government not to take this seriously. Immigrants are not cash-cows. They are humans after all and they deserve better. We all need our family around as this is how we are and what we need most. Thanks again for your effort.
